In the course, which requires no prior knowledge, we talk spontaneously with each other “about God and the world”, i.e. about all topics that interest you in your private and business life. You will receive valuable feedback on vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. You learn Swiss German dynamically and at your own pace without time pressure. Everyday topics will help you to deal confidently and skillfully with important situations in everyday life. As a basis for the course, personal course materials are selected based on your previous knowledge and wishes and include the following topics, from which individual emphases can be set, according to your wishes.

The principle of listening and repeating, learning from mistakes, questioning and answering is a very effective way of learning. This is the key of the step-by-step method, which builds a solid foundation of knowledge and fluency through listening, repeating and learning from mistakes. We help you actively and creatively work on your pronunciation and intonation and improve your accent. Grammatical rules and patterns as well as a large vocabulary are guaranteed. Conversation is the focus, because only practice makes perfect.
In a total of 14 lessons, which consist of several video lessons, you learn the Swiss German language schematically and structured at your own pace. For each lesson there is a short free “mini-lesson”. According to your mood, you can decide when you want to complete which lesson. The individual lessons are not modular and therefore separate from each other. It is up to you if you want to design the course in a linear way or according to your gusto.

TEACHING FROM THE HEART
Nicole Toth from Zurich, a Swiss native, founded the Swiss German Academy in 2020. Surrounded by a large Expat Community her friends began to ask her to teach them Swiss German. The seed was planted.
Nicole knows from her own experience how difficult it can be to use a foreign language orally in daily life. It takes courage, overcoming obstacles and, above all, practice. Lots of practice.
